please also suggest me with reasons about the front end of EDMS. Should it be on devloper 6i or 9i???

What is the certification matrix between these tools, what are you trying to achieve

Are you writing your own EDMS or using a package (documentum)?

If you are writing your own, I would use HTML-DB with the Oracle*text option . . . .

You know that a product like Documentum took over a man-century to create, right?

How about some details on the type of EDMS?

Well, I would start by downloading 10g, enterprise edition, and buy a license, as you will need the advanced features:

Then use Oracle*Text, if you can afford the licenseing costs.

Else, you will have real issues with LIKE searches inside the table rows. . . .
