Hi,

We`re installing clusterware 10.2.0.1 (two nodes) on Suse 10 x86 64 with two raw devices, one for OCR and other for voting disk. When we execute on node1 the root.sh script we see this error:

We have made the raw device partitions freeing the first cylinder as we have seen in problems relationed with installations over Solaris but the error persists.

Please is very urgent, any idea?

It looks like you did not install the OCR properly.

Are you following the step-by-step directions from the RAC Linux book?

If you need urgent support, just call Oracle at 800-223-1711.

We have already opened an incidence in Metalink but the answer wasn´t accurate for our case. They told us that probabyly there was a previous installation but there wasn`t any previous installation.

The OCR is installed following Oracle`s official doc as we have done other times without any problems.

Use dd to clean off the disk, and cluster deconfig to clean up your install. Go into fdisk, drop all partitions to revert it back to a fresh device. Allocate all your space starting at cyl2 as the 6th partition (your final /dev file will have s6 at the end).

I've had that problem on Solaris in the past, and putting the space on the 6th partition solved it for me when nothing else would.
