I am setting up ASM using OUI. On the page where you assign devices, I can't see any devices. I changed the path to /dev/oracleasm/disks where 6 disks are shown. However, I can't see them in OUI.

Is /dev/oracleasm/disks the proper discover path or is there a different one I should be using? Is there something else that could be wrong. My systems people are stumped as am I.

Why use OUI?

If you redo it with the command line utilities (asmcmd), and can see exactly what's up.

Try the command interface:

ASMCMD> ls -alt -- list directory contents

ASMCMD> cd -- change directory

ASMCMD> mkdir -- create (make)directory

ASMCMD> du -- display directory space

ASMCMD> find -- standard UNIX find command

ASMCMD> rm -- remove file/directory

ASMCMD> lsdg -- list diskgroups

ASMCMD> pwd -- display current directory
