Product User Profile - Remote database conn Options

I have Oracle 9i installed on windows XP . I created a user and I am able to login. I have created a Net service name in Oracle Net manager .

The connection is tested with remote Unix Oracle Database with user-id from Net manager.

Now from Windows system, I give Sqlplus user_id@<service_name>/password
it throws an error

Product user Profile Information is not loaded.

Can any one help in this regard.

I executed PUPBLD.sql from system user. But still I am not able to connect remote database (unix) user.

Can you provide some more details?
Are you positive that you were connected as SYSTEM and not as SYSDBA?

an oracle user in sunsolaris system.
From DOS prompt of Windows XP system , I am trying to connect to my user-id in oracle 7.2 database.

I have executed PUPBLD>sql from SYSTEM user. Still I am getting the same ERROR.

The Oracle docs note:

The PRODUCT_USER_PROFILE (PUP) table provides product-level security that supplements the user-level security provided by the SQL GRANT and REVOKE commands and user roles. To create the PUP table, log in to SQL*Plus as the SYSTEM user and run PUPBLD.SQL which is located in the ORACLE_HOME\SQLPLUS\ADMIN directory with:

SQL> @%ORACLE_HOME%\SQLPLUS\ADMIN\PUPBLD.SQL

Also, note that the product_user_profile must be owned by SYSTEM, and you will get an error if you run pupbld as SYS.

They did. They gave you a complete solution to the issue.

ERROR? Are you really a DBA? The PUP message is a a warning, not an error:

CODE

"Warning: Product user profile information not loaded!"

If the table truly exists, your problem is likely a missing synonym, or you have multiple tables in other schemas.
