hi
ive installed oracle 9i on windows 2003 server sp2
im able to connect to the database as sysdba as well as schema level also.

sqlplusw scott/tiger---working
sqlplus / as sysdba ----working

any one can connect as sysdba to that database.(from administrator user at o/s level)
how can we restrict users so that only i can login as sysdba.
do we need to create any user at the o/s level for all other schemas??
please help

Any user in the dba group can connect as sysdba.

First. remove external authentication (ops$):
