Hello,

I have a log file created with imp file=mydump.dmp log=mylog.log full=y show=y and i have all the object's ddl/defination in it - but it require a lot for formating in it.

i need to create many objects and this file can be really helpful. Is there anyway i can format it without that much labor.

i dont have toad/3rd party tool. and using Windows OS. may be someone knows/have some script to fix all that garbage. I'll be grateful for your help.

Hi David,
As far as i know INDEXFILE option would only give DDLs for Indexes but it improves importing by not creating indexes at that time.
Please correct me if i am wrong.

I think here the need is a script (shell or perl) that can extract the DDL for all db components from the imp log.

Please see metalink ID Note:123720.1 if it's useful.(If you have access to metalink). Here they give a perl script which extracts ddl for tblspaces,rollback,tables,user schema ddls.
Please test it for any errors and also if any db components are missed out for 9i.

hi,

Index file is cool, but it does not have all objects. I want to have tablespace definitions, exactly as they are in source. Index does not serve purpose.

let me see this metalink note.

indexs=n and indexfile=abc.sql does include the information of tablespace as well in the abc.sql file if these are arguments ae provided in imp clause.
