Internship to dowgrade enterprise to standard edition Options

Hello,

I just got a full-time unpaid internship. The company is downgrading its oracle database from the EE to the SE. I'm quite new in IT but more than willing to learn. My degree subject was in Business Information Technology in the UK.

I recently tailored an occupational healthcare database in MS Access and then, migrated all the information into SPSS. I also did the whole analysis for each single record. That means I got some basic knowledge of databases.

I want to do well at this internship but not so sure how helpful I can be to the organisation.

1. What can I expect to be doing?
2. How can I be helpful?
3. Where can I get information in order to learn more of this process?
4. Is there any web-site where I can learn for free about downgrading?

PS: I only took a 2 week course in Oracle but didn’t get to the part of database migration non I have ever practised.

That's a great start! I have an MBA in IT!

I learned a database in my masters program (IDMS) well enough to get a DBA job, but this was in 1983, years before Oracle came out!

Find a rigourous masters that teaches Oracle . . . .

Barring OU, if you already know RDBMS, you can learn Oracle from the Easy Oracle pack:

Thanks for the encouragement. I believe I´m on the right path cause of the BIT degree. I also got a diploma in Business Administration. I just have to become more technical.
I know how to use bits of SQL server, and also willing to learn on the SQL language. Have done a bit of programming in the .net environment too, and took a 2 week course in oracle. It was only an introduction thogh.
Right now, I´m doing un unpaid internship which will hopefully enable me to get into a postgraduate in Oracle. I´d like to work a couple of years in order to get further experience and be able to raise some money tp pay for my qualification.
I got plenty of books to read about oracle. I believe I have to keep on learning oracle basic concepts, and do specific research on downgrading (Is the project I´m involve right now).
