Hi Team,

DB Version : 11.2.0.4

On one of my standby the redo logs showing the below status
SQL> select group#,thread#,sequence#,bytes,status from v$log;

GROUP# THREAD# SEQUENCE# BYTES STATUS
---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ------------------------------------------------
1 1 0 209715200 UNUSED
3 1 0 209715200 UNUSED
2 1 0 209715200 UNUSED

Standby using standby redo logs but online redo logs of stand by are in UNUSED state
SELECT thread#, group#, sequence#, bytes, archived, status FROM v$standby_log order by thread#, group#;

THREAD# GROUP# SEQUENCE# BYTES ARCHIVED STATUS
---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- --------- ------------------------------
0 14 0 230686720 YES UNASSIGNED
0 15 0 230686720 YES UNASSIGNED
1 12 0 230686720 NO UNASSIGNED
1 13 17208 230686720 YES ACTIVE

SQL> SELECT PROTECTION_MODE FROM V$DATABASE;

PROTECTION_MODE
------------------------------------------------------------
MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE

how to make the online redo log as current or inactive instead of UNUSED , on stand by db?

Regards,

Hi,

It's my understanding that standby online redo logs should have a status of unused.

What is the problem here?

Also, see this MOSC note:

Hope this helps . . .
