I have a partitioned table that needs to be renamed.
This partitioned table contains bitmap and normal indexes as well.

It has taken almost 24 hours and still the table has not been renamed.
May i know why it is taking such a long time to just change a table name?

Anything that i need to check?

Hi Thomas,

Normally, a partitioned tablespace rename only updates the data dictionary, and it should happen very quickly.

The tablespace is read-only, right?

Run a AWR or statpack report for a five
Minute interval. That might provide a clue.

I would also open a service request on MOSC, this smells like a bug:

Good luck!

Hope this helps . . .
