Hi,
I am new as a DBA , I have a question i hope someone can clarify.

If I have lets say db oprational on day 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 span
question 1
I took backup at day 2 and backup at day 7 and I have archived redo since day 1
If I lost backup day 7, is it possible to restore backup 2 and apply archived redo to recover till last day?

question 2

Hi Baso, and welcome to the forum!

Question 1 - yes
Question 2 - no

To start, you need to understand the types of backups, so please read my article carefully:

http://www.dba-oracle.com/t_rman_backup_types.htm

Good luck!
