select * from dba_objects do
where owner like 'abc%' and exists (
SELECT OBJECT_NO FROM v$RESULT_CACHE_OBJECTS where NAME like 'abc.%'
and OBJECT_NO is not null and object_no=do.OBJECT_ID
);
I had run the above query in UAT and PROD, and it had blocked all other sessions. We had to kill the session. I had also observed the CPU time was increasing for the query.

Mainly the problem is with v$RESULT_CACHE_OBJECTS view not with the join of DBA_OBJECTS.

Question: Could Select query on v$RESULT_CACHE_OBJECTS (or on any other Oracle views) block other sessions?

Hi Swetabh, and welcome to the forum!

To see blocking session, try v&result_cache_memory.

Please read this carefully:

http://www.dba-oracle.com/t_packages_dbms_result_cache.htm

Good luck!
