Hello Forum,

DG config is not working after applying oracle patches 24006111 & 24315821
show configuration commands works on standby but hangs on primary db.

DGMGRL> show configuration;

Configuration - emo_dg

Protection Mode: MaxPerformance
Databases:
db_primaryvip - Primary database
db_standbyvip - Physical standby database

Fast-Start Failover: DISABLED

Configuration Status:
ORA-16665: timeout waiting for the result from a database
DGM-17017: unable to determine configuration status

Any suggestions for solving the issue.

Hi Pranav, and welcome to the forum!

If you are certain that the patch application caused the Ora-16665 error, then you know the root cause of the problem, right?

I would open a service request on MOSC:

First, see "Data Guard Broker Switchover fails With ORA-16665 using Active Data Guard" (MOSC Doc ID 1323789.1). When you get an ORA-16665 with Data Guard you need to check to see if you have 'AFTER LOGON' or 'BEFORE SHUTDOWN' triggers.

The Ora-16665 signals a network configuration error.

Here are some good notes on the Ora-16665 error:

http://www.dba-oracle.com/t_ora_16662_network_timeout.htm

Please let know the solution when you find it.

Good luck!
